Hrm. I know that Henderson group offers several security classes (two
are unix i believe). Learning Tree has a certification for security
which offers classes in NT security, firewalls (mostly unix-based) and
internet system/network security (again, mostly unix-based). Many of the
unix vendors themselves offer classes for their specific operating
systems and also the firewalls they recommend. Digital has a security
class and classes on their altavista tunnel. Sun has a network security
class, a firewall-1/solstice class, and the firewall-1/solstice+network
security class combined (which focuses on solaris -- 2.5, i believe).
IBM offers an AIX security class as far as i know. i don't know about hp --
judging from the number of security holes found lately if they don't have
one now they probably will eventually... as with all things, the level of
complexity/technical issues brought up will vary -- henderson and the
vendors are more technical, as far as i can tell, than the other 3rd
party vendors -- maybe because they feel more comfortable (sun, dec, etc)
talking about their own security -- i have a feeling alot of companies
will hop on the bandwagon just like they did when the web was "the big
thing" (not that it isn't still, but you see what i'm getting at) -- in
general, supply will follow demand. up until last year only one or two
vendors offered security classsses and learning tree only offered one.
suddenly everyone has bigger budgets for security. this can only help
matters.
i hope this has been of some help -- feel free to email me privately for
specifics (like phone numbers, etc.)
Good luck :)
