i also faced with this problem using netscape 3.01 for X on my linux
i think this is because of the newest malloc functions which netscape
doesnt use.(netscape for linux was compiled with the old malloc libs)
when you connect to a java-page your netscape gives bus error and close
i fixed this problem. i suggest you to take a look at the web page
