I subscribed to this list to try to pick up valuable suggestions and
tips for
security purposes. I must confess that I too have been a little
frustrated
by the noise and clutter. It takes me about 30 minutes in the morning
to
clean out my mail box and sort through for anything valuable (like
maybe
instructions from my boss, etc!).
I suggest that we refrain from responding to people who are obviously
in
the wrong place (except perhaps by e-mail) as this just adds to the
clutter.
I know, it is _so_ tempting to punch the reply key but it is not
productive.
As far as doing research, I concur that most of the information
needed is
in the public domain. However, sometimes when I am asked about an
area
I am not familiar with, I would like some general guidance or
suggestions
about where to start. I have received some valuable suggestions from
list posts
sometimes guiding me to a company or technology I had no idea
existed.
Once I knew about them, it was an simple matter to do further
research.
How can you look up a word in the dictionary if you don't know how to
spell it??
Thanks for letting me ramble on. If I can be of any assistance to
anyone in the
areas of operational telephony or toll fraud, please feel free to
drop me a message.
