Lotus Notes has very extensive security features. There's a
documentation database that comes with Notes that describes these
security features in detail. Examples: it uses public-key algorithms to
authenticate users; mail and database entries can be signed or encrypted
or both; the transport link between Notes clients and servers can be
encrypted, etc. As with any security mechanisms, it takes some learning
and some thought to apply the Notes security features effectively. But
they can be very effective.
(Disclaimer: my employer purchased Lotus Corp awhile ago, so you may
think I'm biased -- and maybe I am! But I was using Notes well before
then, and liked it as much before IBM owned it.)

Hi,
I have been asked to construct a tendering system based on Lotus Notes.
The operating System is either NT or OS/2.
Now I know about the the problems with OS/2 and NT but what about Lotus
Notes. I can't find any information on this. Can someone please
update me on how secure Lotus Notes is.
Thanks in advance
