Although I have read very little about Penguin, the main means it
uses for digital signature authentication is PGP. The idea behind Penguin
also seems very straight forward. The few examples that I have seen
accomplish fairly complicated tasks with little code. Issue 3 of "The Perl
Journal" has a nicely done article showing some of the capabilities of
Penguin. Issue 4 promises to have an in depth article about the different
forms of security Penguin supports. Personally I'd like to see more about
the language before doing anything critical in it.
BTW the main Penguin distribution site is
{http://coriolan.amicus.com/penguin.html}.
