Hi, all,

I know this is a bit out for me to ask this question in this
mailing list. But, i would really appreceiate that someone would kindly
give me some ideas on this things..

1) Currently, i work as a system administrator in a local college. We
have a Internet system whereby i do not know how to control my user for
accessing the Internet (authetication). The network structure looks
something like the following :-

        ---------- -----------
        | Novell | | Solaris | -------
        |        |<---------------->|          |<------>|Cisco|
        |--------| |----------| |-----|
            | |
            | |
            | |
        ---------- -----------
        | Bus | | Star |
        | Network| | Network |
        |--------| |----------|
The software that we are using to access the Internet is the Solarnet
WebScout offered by the Sun Microsystems, where the TCP/IP module does not
provide any authentication procedure for users (Maybe i do not get expose
to at all) . Can someone help me on this ? Thanks.

2) Our college is going on expansion and they are thinking of
restructuring the current network and upgrade it to FDDI network, what is
the devices that we need exactly for this FDDI network ? Is it better to
use ATM rather than the FDDI ?

Thanks,
