This is off the subect of the list, but I feel a need to respond anyway.

I *don't* want such a thing because it clutters the subject line and there's
already sufficient information in the headers to identify the mailinglist. If
you're using a mail system that is incapable of filtering based on hidden
headers, I strongly suggest you fine one which is. It'll make your cyber-life
*much* more bearable.

I see from your headers that you're using Netscape under X11 as your mail
program. I might suggest that using a web browser as a mail program is like
using a screwdriver as a chisel. Yes it works, but it doesn't do the job very
well.

Since you're running under Unix, there are at least two programs that can
pre-filter your email into multiple inboxes by putting them in your .forward
file, and there are dozens of programs that are able to read from multiple
inboxes.

For my own configuration, I read email with exmh and I prefilter with slocal.
I have a line in my .maildelivery file that looks like this:

> sender security + ? NetStuff/Security

This notices the word "security" in the sender header and puts the message
into the appropriate mailbox.

Please, people. Get the right tools; don't try to force others into your
lowest common denominator.

Chris
