With all this fuss about cookies, what is the real purpose of them.
I could make my cookies file read only (will Netscape try to change
permissions on it to "help me" - in that case, I could chown it to
root after doing so). The question is, what am I giving up if I do
this? I have already turned off Java and Javascript for security
reasons, and it doesn't seem to make a big impact on my browsing.
