I've proposed and will arrange a "Security in the Web" BOF at the WWW
F94 conference. However, I realize that not everyone who wanted to go
to the conference was able to (there's an extensive waiting list). So,
this mail is meant to serve two purposes:
1) Notify folks who might be interested in this BOF to keep a look-out
for the time and place.
2) Request information from interested folks who can't make the BOF.
The purpose of the BOF as I wrote it is:
"I'd like to have a BOF for folks working in security on the Web. I'd
like to get some sense of who'w working on what, what everyone
thinks the issues are, and a way to stay in touch outside of the
conference. Topics in security might include technology and
mechanisms for authentication, private communication,
integrity-protected communication, authorization, document
signing, document protection; real Web problems that need solving
now, Web problems of the future in commerce, privacy, industrial
use, home use, and so on."
I'll take notes and post them. If anyone who can't make the BOF wants
to tell me what they're doing, what security problems they'd like to
see solved, etc., I'll include that in the notes as well.
Also, if anyone has a different idea about what they'd like to get out
of the BOF, please tell me.
