The solid key only appears with https:// URL's. This is in SSL mode by
definition. You can't have solid keys with an http:// URL.
A solid key with one tooth means export grade SSL encryption, and a solid
key with 2 teeth means US-only grade SSL encryption.

Yes, the "work" is built-in to the SSL protocol.
