Why can't you take the data from the book? I would consider using the
part of speech information in The Klingon Dictionary to be a clear
example of Fair Use. That is exactly how I got the information I built
into a simple Klingon word analyzer program about twenty years ago,
which I used mostly to do spell- and grammar-checking before posting
things to the mailing list.
How can a dictionary be useful if you don't *use* what it contains? As
long as you're using it for your own purposes, I wouldn't worry about
running afoul of copyright law.
