Actually, you bring up some good points. There are indeed more venues for
people to learn about and discuss Klingon. I consider that a good thing as
it
potentially increases the number of ways in which someone can get drawn
into the language.
What would make it even better would be if different participants at those
other venues would now and then point back to the KLI. And this does
happen now quite a bit, not surprising, given the many resources the KLI
site has to offer.
As we move forward, this will only improve. The points you bring up were
actually discussed at the qep'a' a few days ago, and one MAJOR advantage
the KLI site will have when it returns will be a searchable archive.
Serious
scholars as well as anyone with more than just a casual interest will
greatly
benefit from being able to follow threads easily. Further, we'll be
pursuing
a project of producing more "RoundTable Discussions" based on edited
topic threads from the mailing list, much as used to be published in the
pages of HolQeD.
