Maybe I'm primed by the Chinese depiction of a dragon which is more similar
to your first picture. I would call both creatures a {lung} or perhaps a
{lung'a'}. The pronunciation of the word for dragon is also the same in
Klingon and Chinese (at least in Mandarin), so that might fit.
