It is interesting that few are more critical of unusual hobbies than =
those who have DIFFERENT unusual hobbies. Those OTHER people are =
obviously wasting a lot of time doing something stupid, right?
Like, why should I learn Klingon when I could be memorizing football =
statistics, or collecting postage stamps or butterflies, or juggling, or =
playing role playing games, or video games, or canasta, or square =
dancing, or karate, or spending quality time in a suntanning salon, or =
getting tattoos or piercings, or yodeling, or memorizing old Fireside =
Theater albums, or learning pi out to 100 places, or tap dancing, or=85

I already do about half those things.
Anyway, we don=92t need reasons to do things. If they interest us and =
bring us smiles, that is enough. And it=92s okay for people to do those =
other things, too. There are people enough to do everything, and no =
reason for us all to do the same narrow set of things.
Though the world would be cooler if more of us spoke Klingon.
