The English translation might confuse someone who is trying to look up
the words, because it doesn't quite match the Klingon. The grammar is
fine -- "they [verb] him" doesn't have to correspond to the verb
prefix {lu-} when the subject is one of Klingon's inherently plural
nouns -- but the vocabulary is slightly off. The story says {QaS} in
Klingon. The English "soldiers" is probably better reserved as a
translation of {negh} instead.
KGT page 50: A similar word, {QaS}, normally translated "troops", is
used in almost the same way as {negh}, but it excludes officers.
I don't know if the lack of officers is intentional in the story, but
it's there. It's easy to preserve the implication in translation, by
calling them "troops" instead of "soldiers".
