<HIjol SqatIy! bIngDaq naDev yIn val tu'lu'be'.> not jatlhpu' qIrq net Sov.
'ach malthvaD jatlhpu' qIrq <HIjol!> 'ej tlhIngan Hol jatlhpu'. ghIq qIrq
jollu'pu' 'ach jol'a' matlh'e'?

/*One knows Kirk never said "Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent
life down here." But Kirk said "HIjol!" to Maltz. Then Kirk was
transported, but did Maltz transport him?*/

Klingons might find "Scotty" difficult to pronounce but I rendered it as
close I could. Perhaps they'd pronounce it <SIqatIy> to avoid the initial
consonant cluster.

I rendered "down here" as {bIngDaq naDev}, "hereabouts in the area below."
"Below what" is known to both parties, so {Duj} isn't needed. I considered
word order: {naDev bIngDaq} would mean "below this area" as if under Kirk's
feet there's a cave with no intelligent life in it.

I thought the topic marker for Maltz {matlh'e'} was helpful if not
necessary. The question should focus on whether Maltz did the beaming, not
whether the beaming was done.
