AFAIK our one example of {Sal} in canon refers to mountains:
SaqSub'e' muSHa'bogh
pawmeH leng qeylIS
HuDmey Sal ghIq ghIr
And Kahless traveled to
His beloved Saq'sub,
Over the mountains [PB]
