Greetings, all. I've finally been in touch with Lawrence Schoen of the
Klingon Language Institute and have the official poop about getting
back issues, et. al.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now in its second year of operation, the Klingon Language Institute continues
its mission of bringing together individuals interested in the study of
Klingon linguistics and culture, and providing a forum for discussion and the
exchange of ideas. Though based in the USA, the Institute is actually an
international endeavor, presently reaching more than twenty countries, on six
continents.
The main vehicle of the Klingon Language Institute is HolQeD, our quarterly
journal. Each issue includes artwork, feature articles, and regular columns
discussing Klingon linguistics, language, and culture. In addition, members'
letters discussing, commenting, and debating ideas and arguments raised in
previous issues also appear, supporting an atmosphere of mutual respect and
open discussion. More than simply a newsletter, HolQeD is intended to be an
academic journal, and is registered with the Library of Congress. Sample,
and back issues are available.
Joining the Institute is simple; it is open to all individuals interested in
the study of the Klingon language. General membership in the KLI along with
a year's subscription to HolQeD costs $15 in the USA, $18 in Canada, and $21
for all other countries (payment in U.S. funds only). Institutional su
bscriptions are slightly higher. All members receive a free copy of the
annual KLI Directory.
