Bacon is cured pork, and Klingons don't have pigs. In English, when =
bacon is made from some other meat, it is qualified: e.g., "turkey bacon."
Curing is a general word for preserving food with additives, and =
possibly with some kind of preparation.
There is no Klingon word for bacon, and this should be stated at the =
start. Depending on context, one might avoid specifying bacon and refer =
instead to {Ha'DIbaH choqlu'pu'bogh} "preserved meat," {Ha'DIbaH =
na'moHlu'pu'bogh} "salted meat," {Ha'DIbaH QaDmoHlu'pu'bogh} "dried =
meat," or the like.
If you actually mean "bacon" and no substitutes will do, then just say =
"bacon" and accept that there's no Klingon word for it. After all, =
what's the English word for "targ"?
