To me, the use of {ghoS} but also the use of {-vo'} implies a movement,
and the answer might be "I'm coming back from the bathroom". :-)
If the answer to "where are you from" has to be something like "I'm from
Germany" or "New York", I do like what SuStel suggested,
{nuqDaq 'oH juHlIj'e'} or an adaption of it, like
{nuq 'oH munglIj'e'}
{nuq 'oH mung venglIj'e'}
{nuq 'oH juHlIj veng'e'}
If ypu want to ask where city he has been befoe coming here, I might say
more directly, {naDev bIlengmeH, nuqDaq lenglIj Datagh?}
