For my part I try to avoid tarring one form or another as a "mistake"=2C ev=
en if it's probably pretty clear that's how it originated. Klingon is suppo=
sed to be naturalistic=2C and pairs like jorneb/jornub=2C naHjej/neHjej=2C =
and the like could be dialectic or simply idiolectic variation. I like the =
idea that Klingon would have variety along these lines - the Empire's too b=
ig to be culturally homogeneous=2C after all.
At any rate=2C we know from the paq'batlh that some instances of glottal st=
op in modern Klingon come from no' Hol /t/ - /tubba'lit/ for {tobbe'lu'}=2C=
for instance. The recently-revealed verb {rIt} "summon" is also suspicious=
ly similar to {rI'} "hail" and I've wondered if {rIt} could be etymologised=
as a reborrowing from an older form of Klingon. Similarly=2C perhaps {ghe'=
tor} is an archaic-sounding form in Klingon=2C with {ghe''or} the more mode=
rn=2C or perhaps simply more casual=2C pronunciation. Who knows?
