I think it'd arguably be a better system, because it'd award points depending on how difficult words are to form in Scrabble, rather than how common they are in language in general. However, a rather brief consideration of what that task would involve suggests the calculations would be quite nightmarish.
...and a sufficiently large text would probably yield similar results anyway, and be many times simpler.
