Actually the vowel matches exactly in Mandarin: Pinyin "kong" is pronounced
with the same [u] sound as Klingon "qung", so besides the tone, just the
onset consonant is slightly different. Tone aside, we have [k=CA=B0u=C5=8B]=
 vs.
[q=CA=B0u=C5=8B]. That's as good as it gets. :)
