Well, he told me - and probably to others - that he had the scripts of 
all episodes and movies so far that used Klingons. He did not watch the 
episodes to create TKD, by the way.

It mean we must check if there has ever been a Klingon talking about 
"entities". In this case, we do even have the example of a klingon 
talking about "entireties" right here in TKW, so it seems obvious the 
meaning of "whole" has always been the intended one.

In the TOS episode Errand of Mercy, Kor said to Spock: "Do you know why 
we are so strong? Because we are a unit. Each of us is part of a greater 
wole."

Dammit, I hate it when I answer my own questions! ;-)
