I think I've had my first instance of misunderstanding something in
English because I speak Klingon.

I was at a museum today, in an English-speaking area and there was a
sign on one of those giant mining trucks, "Do not climb on truck. Use
stairway to access cab."

So I thought, "Wow, cool, I can go in the truck cab!" I looked and
there was what I would happily call a letlh right there, going up the
front of the truck to the cab. Maybe it was more a choghvat, but some
people would call it a letlh. I was halfway up it before someone
pointed out that there was a normal staircase, like in a house,
behind a wall that went into the back of the exhibit.

I honestly think I got it wrong because I mentally translated the sign.
