{qama' mInDu' qat} "he wrapped/encased the prisoner's eyes"?  (Interesting that we have no verb for "cover [up]".)

ghunchu'wI' coined *{mInyoD} "eyeglasses" (lit. "eye-shield"), but now that we have {mIn QanwI'} from TalkNow, *{mInyoD} seems a good option for "blindfold", etc., though you'd still have to explain it.

{mIn QanwI' nguv} was translated in TalkNow as "sunglasses", so *{mIn QanwI' nguvqu'} or *{mIn QanwI' qIj} could mean glasses so dark one can't see through them.
