Pretty much everything vajar chews someone out for is something he
does himself immediately before or after! But he's under a lot of
stress. I think he was more mad at her for that moment that he
thought he had misassessed her condition and she'd gone and died on
him, than he was for her being asleep on duty. Hota'ro' is trying to
live her entire life in the narrow channel of "obey orders, do duty
to ship, don't piss off the captain" and her brain keeps going into
lockdown when they far too often conflict.
