Very true about Klingons not having much of a sweet-tooth, but one would expect them to have words for naturally occurring sugars.
Of course, maybe they just partition their carbohydrates differently than we do ("Lactose and inulin in the same class? What madness; clearly, one is a Klach-D'kel and the other is a Chor'zveth!*"), so that they don't have a word that translates well as "sugar", or it's just that they find the idea of using undiluted sugar so alien that they need a name for it.
