Never used in canon.
The causative form of {vem} "wake up, cease sleeping":
bIQongtaHvIS nItlhejchugh targhmey bIvemDI' nItlhej ghIlab ghewmey
If you sleep with targs, you'll wake up with glob flies. (TKW)
Related verbs include {Qong} "sleep", {Dum} "nap", {leS} "rest, relax", {vul} "be unconscious", {vulchoH} "faint" and {vong} "hypnotize".
I call my alarm clock a *{vemmoHwI'} on the model of Spanish *despertador*.
Trek trivia:
The T'Ong {tI'ang}, a 23rd century K'Tinga-class sleeper ship, was encountered in the 24th century by the USS Enterprise after it had reached its "awakening point". His mission was never stated but its captain, K'temoc, was intent on quickly returning to Kronos instead of attacking nearby Federation outposts as Starfleet feared he would do. (Cf. TNG "The Emissary"). I wonder if he had intelligence about the Borg?
