Lot of overlap of course, which verifies our
wants. We didn't have a wishlist session at
qep'a' this year. I guess we usually do it before
Marc arrives, and he was there at the beginning.

>Island

qechvetlhvaD ghaytan puHHom vIyaj.

>Surface

Yes. I used yor for the surface of a lake recently, but am not happy with it.

>Biological:
>Flower

perhaps Qo'noS is like Hawaii with no native flowering plants.

>Bacteria
>Virus
>Mushroom/Fungus

You think a Klingon gunner knows the difference? rop ghew, ngej, rop.

>Mammal

nIm lIngbogh Ha'DIbaH

>Language-related:
>dialect

I would be amazed if that were not Sep Hol

>question (ghelmeH mu'tlhegh?)

That works fine.

>consonant

That'd be nice. It would be cool if the word for
the consonant were the last two letters of the
name of every consonant, preceded by a qaghwI'.
(I'm not writing it out because I remember 'I'.

>Other:
>Future/Present/Past

Hmm. give me an example of a sentence where you
would want "present" as opposed to DaH.

>Transparent/Opaque

Yes, we can't do much better than Qorwagh rur and reD rur.

>to be probable, "There's an X% probability that"

Wait until you see the convolutions I went
through to describe oscillatory angles. Pro-tip"
when hinging your plot around a piece of
technology, make sure it can be easily understood in Klingon.

>Feel, experience (emotion, sensation; nIbpoH,
>parmaq...) (we currently have DuQ)

Hmm. That one doesn't bother me often, and I write a lot of emotional scenes.

>Straightforwardness

I never use that in English.

>Ball

I can make do with moQ.

>Movie / TV show

Ugh. This is the only one of yours that I would
say no, there shouldn't be a word for this. In
context much works, and I don't want Klingon to
start having words for all the Terran things.
It's like when remote islands get hotels and tourist shops.

>Road (He?)

Yeah, it would be nice to have a distinction
between a course and an actual constructed road.

>Vehicle (surely, Klingons don't call ALL their vehicles Dujmey?)

But they might not have a generic term at
all! The Russians were confused and baffled when
we tried to call all road-based large public
transit "bus" they had different sorts and they
had different names and if there was a generic
term it was not something everyday people knew or
understood. I would like that.

>Loud(ly), quiet(ly)

I can live with tam and chuS.

>Hole (we have qung; uncertain if that's just for instruments)

Pretty sure it is.

>elementary particle, atom, molecule
>to be positively/negatively charged

Again, matlh doesn't strike me as much of a
physicist. I'm surprised he doesn't know the words for genitalia, though.
