See, you have the luxury of not being constrained by rhyme or meter, so I'm
really finding it hard to offer much comment on your structure. :) Plus the
story is sucking me in. I'm too impatient for serials...

I'm not a big fan of this use of quq with ghelwI', as I'd expect the subject
to be an event rather than a person (naturally, YMMV). But I'm not sure how
I'd phrase it differently. nItebHa' lughel wej, maybe, though that sounds
almost like a calque.
