In writing the three 'ay''a'mey (at least I hope I'm going to be able
to stop at three: I'm about 20% into 'ay''a' wejDIch) of my lut about
captains vajar and Mahoun I realized that I don't know nearly enough
about Klingon technology and the standard Trek facts known to those
who come at tlhIngan Hol from the tlhIngan side rather than the Hol one.
And in offering the TKW index I discovered that there are a whole
bunch of you out there, reading the list, or at least the DIvI' Hol
postings and not contributing much, perhaps because you haven't
developed the skill with the language, or don't think you have
anything to contribute when more experienced speakers are talking.
(Don't feel that way, by the way. Fresh perspective is what keeps
this language from becoming an icky exclusive club).
I want to address both those things with one request. If you know
Trek facts about Klingon ships, and I mean basic things like which
one can land on planets or whether they have warp nacelles, could you
please post a few, in Klingon. I'll also post a few really simple
questions in Klingon for you guys. I'll start with ...
HanDoghmey ghaj'a' tlhIngan Duj?
That's a HIja'/ghobe' question, and if you need to expand on it in
DIvI' Hol, qay'be'.
