How about raQmeH lam ("dirt for manipulating by hand"; see KGT p.79 for the use of raQ) or chenmoH lam ("dirt for forming")? This would be somewhat similar to the expression "modelling clay".

Here's my attempt:

DIngwI' mach vIchenmoHmeH
raQmeH lam vIlo'ta'.

QaDchoHDI'. DaneH'a'?

"In order to make the little spinner
I used dirt purposed for being manipulated by hand.
We can certainly play together
when it becomes dry. Do you want to?"
