I considered versions of both of these, actually, but opted for
simplicity over exactitude. Still, as usual, you're correct. We need to try
to live within the apparent limitations of the language rather than trying to
force it to fit our English-oriented ways of thinking.
(Of course, if we're going to actually use the language on a day-to-day
basis, it must needs grow and change. All languages do. So I'd rather not
play the part of the ivory tower grammarian preaching linguistic right and
wrong... I'll leave that to you, Krankor. :-)
