Haven't heard much from the mailing list for a while, so I thought I'd post
something myself. Here goes:

I'm moving. Declining enrollments and the budget crunch has caused my
college to lay off four faculty members and yours truly was among them.
There goes my campus housing. Employment looks unlikely in the near
future, and I'll probably be losing access to the mailing list, but we're
working on a way around that! (after all, one must have one's priorities).

Meanwhile, the Klingon Language Institute is going strong, and in between
hauling boxes into my new apartment I'll be printing up our second issue.
If you're a subscriber, expect to receive your copy by mid-July at the
latest. If you're not a subscriber, let me taunt you with what you'll be
missing:

* Ken Beesly's brilliant (and readable!) article on Klingon
morphology; Part 1 of 2 parts: Nouns!

* Captain Krankor's first installment of what will be a regular
column, From the Grammarian's Desk. This issue, the amazing
    and magical pronoun 'e'.

* My own brief contribution which discusses some of the types of
jokes that Marc Okrand has deliberately put into the language.

* An interview with Marc Okrand himself!

* Letters to the Editor, Klingon Poetry, and much much more!

If you're not a subscriber, then what are you waiting for? There's still
time to join under the Charter Member package, which includes the first
four issues of the journal and membership in the KLI. All this for twelve
dollars (fifteen in Canada, eighteen overseas). Make your cheques payable
to me, Lawrence Schoen (U.S. funds, only please), and send them to our new
address:

          Klingon Language Institute
          P.O. Box 74
          Lake Bluff, IL 60044 USA

Thanks!

Lawrence
