Speaking for myself, I was waiting for the grammarian to speak first. As
it is, I've been criticized for jumping in too early to address grammatical
points, since THAT, it has been clearly pointed out to me, IS NOT MY JOB. So
I (not always successfully) try to hold back and let ~mark reply first. It is
my place to express opinions, not to act as grammarian.

Everything is relative. I still consider myself to be a novice, in that
I doubt I would be impressive in a casual conversation without my TKD. This
list is the only place I get to speak Klingon. I'm working to remedy this,
but as yet I am building the foundation. I will no longer be a novice once I
finish the trim...

You happened to have pointed out one of those Okrandian booboos when you
pointed to this example. He said {vagh rep} when he SHOULD have said
{vaghvatlh rep}. Still, you are pointing to the very point at which I've been
hammering away and as yet to which I've received no reply. Time references
are usually nouns used adverbially, without {qaSDI'}.

Okay, I'll go out on a limb. Universally, every time reference made by
Okrand has been a noun used adverbially or an adverbial {DaH tugh ghap}. I
dare anybody to show me an exception. If you'd like, I could compile all the
examples from TKD, CK, PK, ST3 (There aren't any in ST1) and ST6 of time
references to back up my claim. Would THAT convince anybody that I'm not just
making this up? I think this {qaSDI'} stuff was well intended, but mistaken.
I would like to see this issue face some real discussion here on this list
with some real examples from canon to back it up.

Yes. You are a refreshing new voice here.
