More stuff to respond to.
First: the -bogh thing has surfaced again. Happily, the proposed solution
is the same as the correct solution. I proposed that solution to Okrand
himself, and he agreed with it. It is the most 'official' rule we have
that isn't actually in the dictionary.
Once again, to summarize:
yaS qIppu'bogh HoD'e' "The captain who hit the officer"
yaS'e' qIppu'bogh HoD "The officer that the captain hit."
Second: we had a list of about 6 sentences, with the questions
"Are these grammatical?" and "What do they mean?".
The answers are "Yes, they are grammatical", and "Beats me what
they mean."
Is the following English sentence grammatical? What does it mean?
"The helmet decided xenophobically, with bells."
Or:
Is the following C program grammatical? (that is, will it run through
a compiler without errors and produce an executable object). What
does it mean? (that is, what does it do?)
