THE KLINGON LANGUAGE INSTITUTE
******************************
What Is It?
The Klingon Language Institute (KLI) is an organization dedicated to
the development, use, and study of the Klingon language. Its
members examine both cultural and linguistic topics, exploring
the Klingon Empire through its many dialects.
How Do They Do It?
The Journal - HolQeD, the journal of the KLI, includes artwork,
feature articles, and regular columns discussing Klingon
linquistics, language, and culture. It is published quarterly
and is available for twelve dollars per year for individual domestic
subscriptions.
The Archive - home to all prior work on the Klingon language,
both formally published and of more amateur origin, as well
as relevant material (e.g., novels, videos). All appropriate
and useful information is thus brought together in one place,
facilitating research for KLI members. New additions to the
Archive are announced in issues of HolQeD as required.
The Corpus - an ongoing lexicon of the Klingon language, which
includes both romanized and Klingon orthographic entries
throughout. New words and phrases are added as they are
discovered or produced. Copies are available to all KLI members.
How Do I Join?
General membership in the KLI is open to all individuals interested
in the study of the Klingon language. The annual membership
fee is ten dollars. However, if you join now you qualify as a
charter member and receive a bonus, a ten dollar credit toward the
price of a journal subscription. It's like getting HolQeD for only two
dollars!
