For some reason, I seem to feel less need to say "goodbye" than I do to say
"hello", so a lack of a conversation-closer in Klingon doesn't really
bother me. After all, a conversation-opener has to get the audience's
attention, but you're under no obligation to give it back. Once you stop
talking, they should figure it out.
I'd think something like "pItlh" or maybe even "lu'" (as in, "ok, bye")
would make a good conversation-closer (tho the latter is very likely to
occur mid-conv, but that's no big deal). Depending on the topic discussed,
something like "maj" might work well ("very good; carry on"--hey, that's
"maj. yItaH."), or similar exclamations.
