Huh?  Between is a dual sense of at, not and.  And has a dual sense by itself.
In olden Indo-European or Nostratic days, if you said [dog and cat], and then
used a pronoun to refer to that phrase, you would use a dual number third
person pronoun.  (Let us put further discussion in E-mail, since this has
left the domain of Klingon.)
