I've discovered another bizarre, puzzling aspect of Klingon grammar.
The following sentences are unquestionably correct:
{yaS HoD je DIlegh}
{yaS HoD ghap wIlegh}
But what if the conjunction was joq. Is it singular or plural?????
{yaS HoD joq wIlegh}/{yaS HoD joq DIlegh}
Section 5.3 of TKD on conjunctions goes only as far as describing their
meanings. It gives no indication of plurality because all the examples
of Klingon compound nouns that I've seen do not extend an explanation
of use in a sentence with a verb prefix. It's one large, important chunk
of information Okrand overlooked.
Is yaS HoD joq singular or plural?????????
