  'Iw teqmeH tlhayDaj lo' luqara'
Lukara wiped the blood on her sleeve (PB)

CULTURAL NOTES:
(KGT 58): Accompanying sleeves ({tlhaymey}), originally not parts of the tunic [{yIvbeH}] itself, were generally made of animal pelts ({veDDIrmey}), skin ({DIr}) with fur ({veD}) still attached.

(STEnc. 124): [ritual suicide or {Heghbat}] called for the eldest son of the celebrant, or a trusted friend, to deliver a ritual knife to the warrior, who would impale himself in the chest. The son of friend would then remove the knife and wipe it on his sleeve.

TREK TRIVIA:
Alexander joins the House of Martok. As he has no sash, he attaches his new metal House sigil ({tuq Degh}) on his upper left sleeve. (DS9 "Sons and Daughters")

N.B. Don't confuse {tlhay} with the verb {tlhay'} "be tame, domesticated" (qep'a' 2016).
