I didn't think there was any confusion WRT {mIS}.  From TKD:

mIS  		confusion (n)
mIS  		be confused, be mixed up (v)
mISmoH  	confuse (v)

Unfortunately, none of these have been used in a sentence AFAIK.  For the mental state we also have:

yay' 		be shocked, be dumbfounded (v)
mer 		surprise (v)

For the physical sense:

DuD 		mix, stir (v)
DuDwI'  	stirring stick (n)
