FWIW I'll throw my opinion in behind SuStel and loghaD that yes=2C I think =
this is what you'll be thinking of=2C qunnoQ. What we call gold can be *des=
cribed* as {baS SuD} in Klingon=2C but it's somewhat vague and clumsy (bras=
s is also yellow=2C but has very different connotations) and to get rid of =
vagueness you need to be more clumsy ({waghbogh 'ej SuDbogh baS}?). The fac=
t that we now have {qol'om} to refer specifically to gold means that there'=
s no longer a need for the circumlocution.
Let me reassure you that Klingon grammar and vocabulary=2C in and of themse=
lves=2C don't become obsolete - in general=2C what is printed in the first =
edition of TKD is still considered just as valid Klingon as an email Marc s=
ent to one of us last week. It may be clarified=2C updated=2C or explained =
in the meantime=2C but it's never discarded outright. What changes is just =
the way each individual might put together our ideas with the building bloc=
ks given to us in canon. And since new words are being revealed all the tim=
e=2C the ways we work out to express things might change too - which is a f=
un experience.
