I'm a new comer to Linux and I am starting to get really frustrated, so I
hope some can please help.

I just installed Rh5.1 for the third time and was in the process of
updating the files from the Red Hat errata list. I have not yet configured
my modem to work under Linux so I downloaded the files using Win95.
Everything was going smoothly when I stopped for lunch. I logged out
(although I have a standalone workstation with my only connection to the
Internet via my modem) wanting to practice good habits from the start.
After lunch, I logged back in as root and started to upgrade from where I
left off.

When I tried to update the ispell package using rpm -Uvh [package name] I
received the following error:

error: cannot install [package name] bla, bla, bla.

I tried another package with the same result. Then I tried to use the
--force option, again with the same result.

Can someone please give me an idea of what I am doing wrong or what the
problem might be.

Thanks in advance,

Kent (a frustrated Linux newbie)
