Boy, this is a recurring problem.  Unix was around for over a 
decade before MSDOS hit the market.  It was Unix first...and
then Gates and Company changed things around.  Like
\Directories\are\this\way\in\DOS but /they/are/this/way/in/Unix.

Then of course, you have aberrations like Filenames and
Directories
with SPACES in them, or incompatible characters.

Now, a lot of people think that "Unix has it backwards".  Of
course not.  It was the Unix way first.  Has to do with people
bringing DOSisms into Linux (Unix).

Oh, and UNIX is a trademark, whereas Unix is a generic name.
Be careful before you disturb the powers that be.  Hehehehehe.
