There is a HOWTO on Signal 11's, but in a nutshell: A Signal 11
is a memory failure problem. Linux, when it runs as an OS will
repair some of those faults. Upon compiling -or install- it
will not for safety sake.
Sounds like you a have a bad memory chip in there. Most likely,
since the error ocurrs at different places in different times
(assuming each of your installs was IDENTICAL to the last detail),
the problem is more of a flaky memory module rather than one that
is outright bad. Reducing bus speed would be a good test. If
at lower speed it runs ok, then its a bad memory.
When reducing speed, you need to reduce not only the CPU speed,
but also the bus speed. The speeds are:
50 mHz bus speed only with CPU Speed = 75 mHz
60 mHz bus speed with 90, 120, 150, maybe 180 too, not sure.
66 mHz bus speed with 100, 133, 166 maybe 200 too, not sure.
Proceed accordingly.
