Hello all,

Spent all last night setting up a LAN in my home. Figured out
the IP Masquerading and everything, and it all works -- thru my 14.4 modem.
So I tried to put my SupraExpress 56i modem in instead, and the machine
can't find it. I've tried EVERY combination of jumpers for COM2 (old modem
was on COM2 so I know that's right) with no luck. I then spent two hours
trying to get isapnptools to find it. It finds it alright, but EVERY
combination of memory space/IRQ I try, it says Fatal error trying to
allocate memory space.

Minicom hangs when I try to reach the modem. /proc/ioports shows all
of the memory that isapnp gives me an option of choosing as in use by
something called serial (auto). Any ideas what that is? I don't
think I am dealing with conflicts with other devices, all
I have is a net card, a modem, a video card, mouse (COM1), and
keyboard. What is this serial(auto) thing and what am I doing
wrong?

Anyone been able to get a SupraExpress 56i running in linux? Any
ideas? Thanks a ton!
