There is a bug in the RedHat 5.2 installation process:

If you build a custom kernal w/RH 5.2 using the supplied
2.0.36 kernel source and the supplies pcmcia-cs-3.0.5
source, pcmcia/card_services will not work.

It was necessary for me to roll back to a generic 2.0.35 kernel
in order to get pcmcia card_services to work.

I believe an installation that does pcmcia services properly should be
a no-brainer by now...

+Platform: Gateway 2000 9100XL laptop, 266 P-II, 192 MB ram.
