Well, until last year, I thought it was FINE to get a WINmodem because all I
was USING was WINdows...

How was I to know I'd get into FreeBSD & Linux???

Call me stupid for not thinking ahead and trying to save myself $100. Modems
were the peripherals I knew the least about in the Intel hardware world...
Now, ask me why I wanted SCSI over IDE, or why I wanted to wait for the
440LX chipset at the time, and I could've told you... Winmodem vs. $160
modem? No clue... I figured it was VOICEMAIL and VOICE FAX and EFAX and
EVOICEMAIL and all kinds of other s*^t that I was never gonna use...
